The Project:Founded in 2021, The KOMAL Project is a student-led initiative which works to make games for use in the Mott Children's Hospital, located in Ann Arbor. We believe that games created by kids, for kids can be empowering for patients and facilitate a supportive community.
The Mission:Our mission is to create fun and engaging experiences for kids that serve to distract them from stressful environments before and during medical procedures. The games, which are designed with the hospital setting in mind, focus on engaging, distracting, and relaxing the player to help them deal with an otherwise stressful environment.
Our project was mentioned during a PAX West presentation about making adaptive games for kids. Click on the above button to take a look!
